About The Position

Firelands Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Critical Care. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role offers a $5,000 retention bonus, a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 (some 1:1), and alternates every third weekend. The position is located in Sandusky, a coastal town voted “Best Coastal Small Town in America”. Requirements

Current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
Current ACLS, Basic EKG, and ECCO required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of experience.
CCRN and TNCC certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.

Responsibilities

Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
