About The Position

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking a Registered Nurse for our OR. This is a full-time, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services.

Requirements

• Current CA RN license required.
• Current BLS from the American Heart Association is required.
• ACLS and PALS from the American Heart Association are required within 2 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• One-year acute care hospital experience in OR/GI Lab preferred.
• For new hires with no Operating Room experience, Periop 101 training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses specialized knowledge and skills in the care of patients and families undergoing invasive OR procedures.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, and evaluate patient care while managing and administering moderate sedation.
• Provides a safe, efficient, and caring environment, one in which the OR team can function and in which the outcome for the patient is as positive as possible.
• Manages and oversees equipment, instrumentation, and supplies of this specialty service.
• Provides patient education and support to the other OR staff.
• Provides care and support in our GI lab.
• Is knowledgeable in pharmacology and physiological systems.
• Meets and exceeds the CDPH, The Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements.
