Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a Registered Nurse for a training opportunity in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at Richmond Hospital. This role is part of VCH's commitment to minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs), aimed at enhancing nursing practice and quality of care. The position involves providing nursing care to high-risk critically ill clients with unpredictable outcomes attached to life-support equipment, and/or clients in post-anaesthetic recovery. The nurse will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, enhancing client and family quality of life. Responsibilities include consulting, conferring, and collaborating with other healthcare givers, demonstrating expertise and leadership in nursing practice, maintaining and advancing clinical competence, and participating in designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned. Candidates accepting this training opportunity agree to remain with VCH as a regular status nurse in the applicable specialty area for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training. Failure to do so may result in VCH seeking to recover the cost of the program.
