Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - Training Opportunity
About The Position
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the ICU team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. This is a training opportunity focused on critical care nursing. VCH is committed to enhancing nursing practice and quality of care through initiatives like minimum Nurse to Patient Ratios (mNPRs). The role involves providing nursing care to high-risk critically ill clients with unpredictable outcomes attached to life-support equipment, and/or clients in post-anaesthetic recovery, working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The position emphasizes client and family-centred care, adherence to BCCNM standards, and contributing to a positive learning environment. Successful candidates will be expected to remain with VCH for at least 18 months post-training to consolidate their skills in the specialty area.
Requirements
- Resume and cover letter required to apply.
- Approximately two years recent acute medical/surgical experience upon critical care program full-time start date.
- Must successfully complete the post-basic training education prior to working in the Department.
- Agree to remain with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a regular status nurse in the area of nursing applicable to the education program for which they are hired for at least 18 months subsequent to completing training.

- Participates on designated hospital committees/teams and approved research projects as assigned.
