As a Critical Care Float Pool RN, you will deliver advanced, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill adult patients across multiple intensive care units at UVA Health University Medical Center. This role is designed for nurses with a strong critical care foundation who value clinical variety, interdisciplinary collaboration, and continuous learning. In this role, you will: Provide direct patient care to high acuity ICU patients, including those requiring advanced monitoring, ventilatory support, and vasoactive medications. Float between adult critical care units based on patient needs, staffing requirements, and your validated competencies. Collaborate closely with intensivists, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, and experienced ICU nursing teams. Apply strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and prioritization in fast paced and complex situations. Support patients and families through critical illness with professionalism, clarity, and compassion. Opportunities for all shifts, full and part-time. What an average day may look like: You may begin your shift in one ICU today and be assigned to a different Critical Care unit tomorrow.
