The Community Living Center RN will serve as a staff nurse and will evaluate clinical practice and initiate change based on current concepts and findings from research and/or evidence-based studies. Performing diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures appropriate to the CLC's practice setting. The Community Living Center RN provides leadership in interpreting, supporting, and implementing Medical Center and Nursing Department philosophy, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and quality improvement processes; accepting responsibility and maintaining accountability for actions and continued professional and personal growth. Serving as a consultant in clinical practice. Initiating and leading groups of personnel and interdisciplinary groups. Establishing relationships with professional and/or health related groups within the community. Must have good organizational skills which enable completion of work. An ability to assume leadership duties. Ability to establish effective communication with residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. The Community Living Center RN should have a working understanding of cultural transformation, creating a home-like environment, a dedication to improving the quality of life for the residents and provide physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual support and medical care for residents and/or significant others during the time surrounding death.
