About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse Clinical Lead in the Freestanding Emergency Department at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola. The position is for the night shift, full-time, with three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7pm to 7am. The Clinical Lead will be responsible for assigning, directing, educating, and monitoring nursing and support staff during their shifts. They will use independent judgment to plan shifts, services, and patient care, assess daily patient needs, and develop patient care assignments. This includes ensuring population-appropriate care, maintaining productivity standards, and justifying variances. The role also involves responding to patient care complaints, setting priorities based on patient and physician dynamics, and providing input into hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluation of staff.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support associates during assigned shifts.
Meet with staff and exercise independent judgment to plan the shifts, services, and patient care.
Assess daily patient care needs and develop and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given and is accountable for maintaining productivity standards and justifying variances to unit manager or designee.
Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
Set priorities appropriate to daily patient/physician dynamics and provide input into hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
