About The Position

Ascension is seeking a Registered Nurse Clinical Lead Specialty for their Emergency Department at Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee in Mequon, WI. This part-time, night shift position involves leading the assigned clinical specialty unit by directing, educating, and monitoring nursing and support associates to ensure high-quality patient care and achieve clinical objectives. The role requires optimizing patient flow and resource allocation, managing complex patient and physician dynamics, ensuring the availability of necessary resources, and contributing to staff hiring, training, and professional development.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Lead the assigned clinical specialty unit by directing, educating, and monitoring nursing and support associates to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality patient care and achieve clinical objectives.
Optimize patient flow and resource allocation by independently assessing daily care needs and distributing assignments that match patient acuity with staff competency, guaranteeing safe, population-appropriate care across specialties like Cardiovascular, Critical Care, and Emergency.
Manage complex patient and physician dynamics, setting critical priorities and serving as the primary point of resolution for patient care concerns to maintain a stable, professional, and patient-first care environment.
Support unit efficiency and operational readiness by ensuring the immediate availability of all necessary materials, resources, and supplies, allowing the entire team to focus fully on clinical care delivery.
Contribute to the future strength of the team by providing essential input on the hiring, training, and professional development of nursing and support staff.
