About The Position

The Registered Nurse Clinical Educator plays a critical role in advancing clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and workforce development across North Central Health Care (NCHC). This role is responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating clinical education programs that support high-quality, evidence-based care across behavioral health, substance use services, skilled nursing, and other healthcare programs. The Clinical Educator partners closely with clinical leadership, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure staff are prepared to meet organizational, regulatory, and professional practice standards while fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Wisconsin
  • Two or more years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Proficient with computer systems and ability to learn new technologies.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of healthcare practice standards.
  • Ability to translate complex clinical concepts into effective learning experiences.
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Sound judgment, integrity, professionalism, and leadership presence.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of clinical education experience.
  • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) or willingness to obtain within one year.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education and professional development programs aligned with NCHC’s mission, regulatory requirements, and clinical priorities.
  • Facilitate high-quality clinical skills training for new hires across Mount View Nursing Home and Behavioral Health units, using diverse instructional methods such as hands-on demonstrations, simulations, instructor-led sessions, and competency evaluations.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on clinical skills within Learning & Development, providing expertise for curriculum design, competency validation, and hands-on training across nursing and behavioral health settings.
  • Serve as Program Designee for the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program, ensuring compliance with state and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as Primary Instructor for CNA training, delivering curriculum, facilitating skills labs, and overseeing student competency evaluations.
  • Maintain program accreditation standards, including documentation, reporting, and quality assurance for CNA education.
  • Collaborate with leadership and regulatory bodies to ensure program alignment with organizational goals and state guidelines.
  • Develop and update CNA curriculum and instructional materials to reflect best practices and current standards of care.
  • Serve as backup and provide support for Infection Prevention initiatives and Employee Health Nurse responsibilities, assisting with compliance monitoring, staff education, and health-related protocols as needed.
  • Customize education programs to meet the needs of diverse clinical roles, including nursing, behavioral health, crisis services, and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Coordinate and deliver clinical orientation and onboarding programs to ensure new employees meet patient care, safety, and compliance expectations.
  • Develop, administer, and evaluate clinical competency assessments to validate required skills and knowledge.
  • Provide ongoing education to support clinical practice changes, new workflows, policies, equipment, and technologies.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor, supporting staff development and professional growth.
  • Ensure clinical education incorporates regulatory and accreditation standards (HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission) and supports compliance readiness.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation and competency records to support audits, surveys, and accreditation reviews.
  • Collaborate with leadership and quality teams to align education initiatives with performance improvement and patient safety goals.
  • Monitor emerging regulations, best practices, and healthcare trends and integrate them into education programs.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to assess learning needs and address performance gaps through targeted education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
