The Clinical Nurse Educator provides staff nurse development through education, consultation, facilitation, change and research. The CNE supports the development of the bedside nurse and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve excellence and the delivery of evidence based nursing practice. This is to occur through the education process of ongoing education needs assessments, annual development of clinical education plans and the implementation of the plans, continuing education availability effective orientation programs and ongoing evaluations of nurse competency, plans and programs. The CNE is instrumental in creating a professional nursing climate at BMH and in assisting to meet the diverse needs of our patients. Clinical Nurse Educator reports to the VP of Patient Care Services. The CNE and the VPPCS will meet regularly. The VPPCS has final approval of annual orientation and education plans based on annual needs assessments and program evaluations.
