About The Position
Henry Ford St John Hospital’s Observation / Clinical Decision Unit is a 28-bed unit specializing in ambulatory patients (ie/ chest pain, TIA, abdominal pain, home falls, etc.). As an extension of the Emergency Department, we do periodically have our staff float between Emergency and Observation as needed. We are a group of team-oriented Physicians (stationed in the department!), Registered Nurses, and Patient Care Technicians. We welcome candidates of all educational backgrounds and experiences, and ensure that you are trained to be successful in this environment.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

- BSN preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in coordinating and delivering compassionate patient care.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching for patients and families.
- Communicate pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team.
- Participate in finding and implementing solutions for variances from patient goals.
