About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Neurosurgery department at Ascension Seton Hays Medical Office Building in Kyle, Texas. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. The nurse will deliver comprehensive nursing care following established clinical protocols, implement and monitor individualized care plans, coordinate multidisciplinary care teams, execute physician and nursing orders with accurate documentation, and lead collaborative discharge planning.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required OR a bachelors level degree not in nursing, an active RN License, and enrolled in an Alternate Entry Masters of Science in Nursing Program with a minimum of 1 year in the program completed.
Minimum of one year of inpatient or outpatient clinic nursing experience.
Demonstrated experience managing the end-to-end prior authorization process and navigating medical necessity appeals.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in the Athena electronic health record (EHR) system.

Coordinate multidisciplinary care teams as the primary point of contact, ensuring seamless communication across specialties for a holistic patient experience.
Execute physician and nursing orders with precision and efficiency, maintaining accurate documentation of the patient's care journey to ensure high-quality records.
Lead collaborative discharge planning alongside the healthcare team to guarantee safe, smooth transitions and continuous support for patients returning home.
