About The Position

The Ambulatory and Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN), a member of Advocate Health’s Nursing Professional Governance community, provides high-quality, patient-centered care through evidence-based practice, clinical expertise, and compassionate care in an ambulatory setting. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patient needs, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes. The RN provides and coordinates comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role uses evidence-based practice, clinical decision-making, compassionate and skilled communication, and leadership to support a safe patient environment and a positive patient experience across the continuum of care. The position supports endocrinology services at Advocate Medical Group. The clinic treats hormone-related conditions, including diabetes, obesity, thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, calcium, osteoporosis, and bone disorders. Care may include individualized plans incorporating nutrition and education services. Clinic locations are Cedar Creek and Hartford, Wisconsin; clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices.
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
Ability to lift and support 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
Ability to push and pull with 30 pounds of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present.
Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, and fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures or functions.
Ability to maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines and perform physical safety interventions, including patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
Ability to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment as necessary when exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, or communicable disease.
Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
