About The Position

Baystate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Children’s and Adolescents Unit at Baystate Health in Springfield, Massachusetts. Our unit provides specialized, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents from birth through age 21, working closely with physicians, nurses, child life specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans that support each patient’s developmental, physical, and emotional needs while creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for children and their families. The Registered Nurse role offers the opportunity to provide specialized, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents while gaining valuable pediatric nursing experience and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support each patient’s unique developmental, physical, and emotional needs.

Requirements

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Diploma in Nursing (Required)
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
• Registered Nurse - State of Massachusetts

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide expected standards of care based on physical, psychosocial, cultural, educational spiritual, safety, and age-appropriate considerations of patients.
• Assumes responsibility for the patient's plan of care and is held accountable for decisions specific to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
• Provides care directly to patients and in collaboration with other healthcare team members.
• Maintains a current level of knowledge and skill with technical procedures as defined by the nursing specialty organization, complies with all regulations and standards of regulatory and accrediting bodies, and is currently licensed in the state of Massachusetts as a registered nurse.
