About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland is seeking a Registered Nurse Charge Preop Pacu to join their dynamic team. This role is responsible for providing quality patient care in pre-procedure, post-procedure, and procedure room areas, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards. The Charge Nurse must be able to assess patient status, interpret data, maintain calmness in crisis situations, and direct staff effectively. They should be dependable, cooperative, and possess excellent customer service skills, with the ability to multi-task, show flexibility in assignments, maintain infection control standards, professional competencies, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. The scope of service for this center includes orthopedics, GYN, ENT, general surgery, gastroenterology, pain management, and plastics.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS, ACLS and PALS required.
- Currently licensed in the state.
- CPR required, advanced life support certification required.
- 1-year leadership experience required intra-operative setting.

Responsibilities
- Provides quality patient care, delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner within all clinical areas of the facility, including pre-procedure, post-procedure and procedure room.
- Ensures the Center’s nursing activities comply with necessary legal, regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Assesses data reflective of a patient’s status and interprets the appropriate information needed to meet the patient’s requirements.
- Maintains calmness in a crisis situation and directs staff members appropriately.
- Demonstrates clinical competency, leadership, and teaching capabilities.
