About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Cath Lab (.75 FTE) will support the care of patients under anesthesia in the Cardiac Cath Lab/EP Lab. Roles and responsibilities include circulating cases, documenting care, and hemodynamic monitoring of patients. There are also opportunities to train in scrubbing cases and learn about electrophysiology. As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. The RN is responsible for providing safe, family-centered patient care, utilizing the Nursing Care Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care collaboratively with the patient, family, significant others, and the healthcare team. The position may require supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. The RN will also assist in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating initiatives such as Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), Value Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, and Workforce Inclusion Diversity Equity and Access (IDEA) into daily work.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions at time of hire unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area.
  • Must obtain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 3 months of employment and maintain it at all times for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
  • Cardiac Cath/EP labs experience
  • Critical Care- (ER/ICU/PACU) experience
  • Other procedural areas (IR/OR/GI Lab) experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Pediatric health care nursing experience.
