About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Catheterization Lab at Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN. The position is full-time, working day shifts from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, 4 days per week. The nurse will be responsible for preparing, implementing, and documenting the plan of care, communicating patient conditions to physicians, and performing diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures. This includes setting up and providing necessary equipment and supplies, assessing and coordinating discharge planning, and evaluating the physical and psychological status of patients. The nurse will also provide interventions, treatments, and educate patients and their families, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, implement and document plan of care.
  • Communicate patient's condition to physician before, during and after procedures.
  • Perform and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.
  • Perform set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with patient, family, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Assess the physical and psychological status of patients, provide interventions/treatments and evaluate effectiveness of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate learning needs of patient and family and provides age-specific and culturally appropriate education.
  • All other duties as assigned.
