About The Position

The IMA Group is seeking experienced Registered Nurse Case Managers (RNs) for a 1099 Independent Contractor role in Houston, TX. This is a flexible, hybrid, field-based position focused on workers' compensation cases. The IMA Group has over 30 years of experience in improving health and disability outcomes nationwide. This role offers autonomy, no bedside care, weekends, or on-call duties, with a hybrid structure involving local travel and remote documentation. Nurses will join an established support team with consistent referral volume and have flexible scheduling and caseload management. The focus is on care coordination and recovery outcomes, not traditional shift work.

Requirements

• Active Texas RN license
• 3+ years of Workers' Comp Field Case Management experience
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Comfort working independently with a flexible caseload
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems
• Reliable transportation across the greater Houston area
• Malpractice insurance, or the ability to obtain it

Nice To Haves

• CCM, CRRN, or similar certification
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee medical treatment plans for injured workers.
• Attend appointments and evaluate treatment progression.
• Communicate effectively with providers, employers, attorneys, and carriers.
• Assess the medical necessity and appropriateness of care.
• Prepare timely and detailed case management reports.
• Support return-to-work and transitional duty planning.
• Coordinate Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and job site evaluations.
