About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit on the night shift. This role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will effectively communicate patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through continuous learning activities aligned with Board of Nursing standards. The unit cares for a diverse cardiac patient population, including those with heart failure, arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac procedures, complex medical and progressive care needs, and peritoneal dialysis patients. This position offers opportunities for professional growth, skill expansion in cardiac assessment and telemetry interpretation, and exposure to a dynamic patient population in a high-acuity stepdown setting.

Requirements

Registered Nurse License
Relevant Work Experience
1 year of experience
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
