About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Medicine Stepdown unit (8 South) on the night shift. This 24-bed unit cares for adult patients with a wide range of cardiovascular and vascular conditions, including those recovering from events such as STEMIs, heart failure exacerbations, and post-operative cardiothoracic surgeries. The role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will communicate pertinent patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. Professional growth is encouraged through learning activities aligned with Board of Nursing standards. This is a fast-paced, collaborative team environment with a minimum weekend requirement of 4 shifts per 6-week schedule. Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
