About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN provides safe, high-quality, patient-centered care while collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal clinical outcomes. The Critical Care RN demonstrates strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year or more of recent Critical Care, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Progressive Care, Emergency Department, or related acute care nursing experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience caring for patients requiring advanced monitoring, ventilator management, and vasoactive medication administration.
  • Strong assessment, communication, prioritization, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of critically ill patients and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Monitor hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, respiratory function, and other critical patient indicators.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards of practice.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions to ensure patient safety.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Operate and monitor specialized critical care equipment and technology.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and discharge planning.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes within the electronic medical record.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
