Our experienced and caring healthcare professionals provide support to alleviate any fear or anxiety patients may experience about their condition, increasing activity and exercise or returning to work. Exercise conditioning improves the heart's ability to function and helps individuals achieve a healthy and enjoyable way of life. Through education, patients can better understand heart disease, learn how to prevent future complications, and make positive lifestyle choices. Provides care to the adult, adult-sized adolescent & geriatric patients and families in the inpatient and outpatient Cardiovascular Health population with needs ranging from basic to complex, utilizing the nursing process. Creates a therapeutic and caring environment for patients and families. Practices in a manner consistent with the Elliot Hospital Interprofessional Practice model; the ANA’s Social Policy Statement, Scope and Standards of Practice, and the Nursing Code of Ethics; American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehab (AACVPR) and American College of Sports Medicine under the direction of the Cardiovascular Services Clinical Nurse Manager and the Cardiovascular Services Medical Director.
