Registered Nurse- Cardiac Rehab Full Time
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Cardiac Rehab is responsible for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care for patients. This role involves participating in patient and family education, and providing leadership by collaborating with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel to uphold standards for professional nursing practice. The RN will also create a positive customer service environment. This position will cross-train in the stress lab to assist with coverage for call-ins and vacations, and will be part of an on-call rotation for the stress lab on weekends and holidays. On-call hours are from 0700-1500, with days rotated among nursing staff in Cardiology and Cardiac Rehab. Nurses may also rotate staying late to complete studies as needed.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required
- ADN or higher
- ACLS & BLS mandatory
- If you do not have ACLS at time of hire, must obtain within 3 months
Nice To Haves
- Background in Cardiology with rhythm interpretation preferred
- Will complete further education/testing regarding rhythm interpretation during orientation process
Responsibilities
- Assessment and identification of patient needs
- Implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service
- Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision
- Establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care
- Assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems
- Performs technical aspects of care competently
- Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care of patients
- Participates in patient and family teaching
- Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting
- Creates a positive customer service environment
