About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in Cardiovascular Critical Care, specifically the Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU). The position involves caring for patients with cardiovascular surgical diagnoses, cardiogenic shock, and abdominal aortic aneurysms. The unit has 6 beds. Candidates must have at least 2 years of nursing experience, including specific experience in CTICU and with fresh hearts. Travel nursing experience and proficiency with EPIC are also required. The shift is 12-hour nights. Candidates residing 75 miles or more from the facility qualify for the travel assignment, while local candidates (less than 75 miles) may be accepted at a reduced rate.

Requirements

• 2+ years of nursing experience required
• Cardiothoracic ICU (CTICU) experience required
• Experience with fresh hearts is REQUIRED
• Travel nursing experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Current AHA ACLS
• Current AHA BLS
• Current NIHSS

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with cardiovascular surgical (CV Surg) diagnoses.
• Care for patients experiencing Cardiogenic Shock.
• Care for patients with Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA).
• Administer 12-hour night shifts.
• Utilize EPIC for patient documentation.
