About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiology Consult department at Ascension Medical Group Heart and Vascular Center in Tulsa, OK. The position is Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. The nurse will be responsible for comprehensive patient monitoring, including assessing baseline health, reviewing diagnostic tests like EKGs and stress tests, and tracking vital signs or cardiac rhythms to detect early warning signs of disease progression or complications. They will also be involved in medication titration and management, administering and adjusting heart medications under cardiologist supervision, monitoring for side effects, and educating patients on managing complex drug regimens. Additionally, the role includes targeted patient education on lifestyle modifications, sodium restriction, exercise guidelines, and early symptom recognition to empower patients in managing chronic conditions. The nurse will also serve as a primary contact for patient inquiries and triage, coordinate care with the healthcare team, and provide emotional support to patients and families.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Cardiovascular or Cardiac experience a plus
  • 2+ years of bedside nursing preferred

Responsibilities
