About The Position

The registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients. The registered nurse provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Oversees other assigned team members and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide population specific care in accordance with the BORN regulations and professional standards of care. Clinical care in the Cardiac Rehabilitation program requires management of patients in the recovery phase from cardiac events or diseases which include MI, PCI, CABG, valve surgery, heart failure, heart transplant, angina, and other complex varieties of heart disease. The program consists of monitored exercise, strength, yoga, meditation, and educational presentations on lifestyle modification. Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry and vital signs during exercise, group patient education, completing individualized treatment plans, physical assessment, and evaluations of patients. Must be comfortable interpreting telemetry rhythms, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and responding quickly to adverse events. Must be flexible to meet the needs of the department. Previous cardiac rehab experience preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing required
  • Registered Nurse MA State License required
  • Minimum of 5 years nursing experience required
  • Cardiac telemetry experience required
  • Previous ED or critical care experience required
  • Cardiac Rehab experience required
  • BLS & ACLS required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cardiac rehab experience preferred
