Registered Nurse – Cardiac Neuro Telemetry
About The Position
A full-time Registered Nurse opportunity is available on the Cardiac Neuro Telemetry (Med-Tele) unit at a 221-bed acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center in Sanford, Florida. This hospital is home to the only full-service cardiovascular program in Seminole and West Volusia counties, offering advanced services including open heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and comprehensive cardiac diagnostics. This position is based on a 27-bed Medical/Telemetry unit that cares for a diverse patient population, including cardiac, neurological, and medical patients recovering from conditions such as CABG, myocardial infarction, and chest pain. The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized treatment plans. The role also includes administering medications and treatments, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to promote recovery, wellness, and positive patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of one year of recent acute care Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience required.
- Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Active Florida Registered Nurse license or approved multistate compact RN license required (Florida licensure within 60 days if applicable).
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Strong assessment, telemetry interpretation, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for cardiac, neuro, and medical telemetry patients.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with provider orders.
- Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning.
- Monitor telemetry and recognize changes requiring intervention.
- Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Promote patient safety, quality care, and positive patient outcomes.
