About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Cath lab team! The Cath Lab offers elbow-to-elbow support and comes fully equipped to help you do what YOU do best, provide for our patients! The department consists of 4 state-of-the-art Cath Labs and one Neuro Lab which opened in March 2023 for cardiac catheterization, structural heart, and neurovascular procedures. These busy labs provide technology and expertise for Baystate’s award winning STEMI program and comprehensive stroke treatment, as well as scheduled cases, about 4000/year. Staff are cross-trained and rotate through scrub, monitor, and circulator duties, and work as a team to manage the fast-paced workflow. A supportive, individualized and thorough orientation is provided with a knowledgeable, experienced staff member. Hours are Monday-Friday, no holidays, with call coverage for emergencies 7:30p-7am and on weekends and holidays. Call commitment is one overnight shift once a week, and one weekend shift every 6 weeks. Staff have a 30 minute required response time; call sleep room is available for those who live outside the time range. Critical care experience preferred but not required. The schedule is per diem, 2-3 shifts per week, located at Baystate Medical Center Springfield. Baystate Health offers competitive shift differentials and allowance plans.

Requirements

  • Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
  • Diploma in Nursing (Required)
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association certification.
  • Registered Nurse - State of Massachusetts license.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical care experience preferred.
  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, structural heart, and neurovascular procedures.

  • Manage fast-paced workflow as part of a team.
  • Provide call coverage for emergencies, including overnight and weekend shifts.
  • Respond to emergencies within a 30-minute timeframe while on call.
