Requirements

  • Current RN license or qualifying CVIS credentials
  • BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire for adult facilities)
  • RCIS, RCES, ARRT-CI, ARRT-VI, or RN with relevant cardiovascular experience (required beginning March 1, 2026)
  • Demonstrated competency in invasive cardiovascular procedures
  • Minimum 12 hours of continuing education annually
  • Fluoroscopy Operator Certification (Colorado requirement)
  • Additional certifications as required by state regulations
  • Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment
  • Excellent patient assessment and monitoring skills
  • Confidence in high-acuity procedural environments
  • Effective communication and teamwork
  • A commitment to patient-centered care
  • Initiative, adaptability, and professional growth

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a health science-related field OR Graduate of an accredited program in: Cardiovascular Technology Radiologic Technology Respiratory Therapy
  • One year of invasive cardiovascular or electrophysiology experience

Responsibilities

  • Scrub, circulate, and monitor during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
  • Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after procedures
  • Recognize and respond quickly to patient status changes and procedural complications
  • Operate and troubleshoot specialized cath lab equipment and imaging systems
  • Document procedural data, hemodynamic measurements, and patient outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and technologists to deliver exceptional care
  • Provide patient and family education while ensuring comfort and support
  • Assist with inventory management and procedural preparation
  • Support quality initiatives, data collection, and regulatory requirements
  • Serve as a mentor and preceptor for new caregivers
  • Participate in staff education and skills development programs
