Registered Nurse, Burn Unit, Nights (Premium Pay) - VUH
About The Position
Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Burn Unit at Vanderbilt University Hospital (VUH). This is a full-time night shift position, working 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, three times per week for a total of 36 hours per week, including some weekends. The Burn Unit is a Level 1 Burn Center that provides care to teenagers and adults, covering a continuum of care from ICU to stepdown, through discharge. They treat thermal, chemical, and electrical burns, frostbite, hypothermia, dermatological conditions, and reconstructive surgery. Requirements
- LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure-Others
- Relevant Work Experience
- Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
- 1 year of experience

Responsibilities
- Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
- Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team.
- Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.
- Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.
- Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum.
- Analyzes comprehensive information pertinent to the patient's care and management to determine nursing diagnosis.
- Continually utilizes the nursing process to evaluate patient's progress towards goals and applies appropriate interventions to ensure effective outcomes.
- Employs strategies to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
