About The Position

Applicants should have their BSN or MSN. Regions Hospital is looking to hire an exceptional, patient focused Registered Nurse to join our Burn Unit and make a difference for our patients and our community. We are Minnesota’s first verified Burn Center and have 18 beds; 8 are designated as critical care and 10 as non-critical. The Burn Center offers critical care and burn management to both adults & pediatric patients with thermal, electrical, radiation and chemical injuries. Patients with frostbite, limb reattachments, necrotizing soft tissue infections, and other acute dermatological conditions are also cared for on this unit. The nursing staff is trained to operate all critical care and hemodynamic monitor equipment. We are known for saving lives in our Level I Trauma Center, and our nursing staff are key to the exceptional care we provide each patient. Our Professional Nursing Practice Model offers patient and family-centered care that maintains an unwavering focus on what matters most: caring and healing at the patient’s bedside. As a nursing professional you will be empowered to manage your clinical practice and working environment through our Shared Governance Model, which focuses on evidence-based nursing practice. Regions Hospital supports nurses with an individualized orientation including Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program which is a nurse residency structured program to support learning, role transition, and retention of nurses. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience
  • Internal new graduate applicants can meet minimum requirements with an Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
  • CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Nice To Haves

  • BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
  • One year of acute care RN experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate all critical care and hemodynamic monitor equipment.
  • Provide critical care and burn management to adult & pediatric patients.
