About The Position

Regions Hospital is seeking an exceptional, patient-focused Registered Nurse to join its Burn Unit. This unit is Minnesota’s first verified Burn Center, featuring 18 beds (8 critical care, 10 non-critical) and providing critical care and burn management for both adult and pediatric patients with thermal, electrical, radiation, and chemical injuries. The unit also cares for patients with frostbite, limb reattachments, necrotizing soft tissue infections, and other acute dermatological conditions. Nursing staff are trained to operate all critical care and hemodynamic monitor equipment. Regions Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center, and its Professional Nursing Practice Model emphasizes patient and family-centered care. Nurses are empowered through a Shared Governance Model focused on evidence-based practice. New hire registered nurses are automatically enrolled in an individualized orientation, including the Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program, a nurse residency program designed to support learning, role transition, and retention. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or Associate Degree in Nursing and 1 year of RN experience
  • Internal new graduate applicants can meet minimum requirements with an Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Minnesota
  • CPR for the professional rescuer or BLS for healthcare providers
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong ability to work with a wide range of patients from varied cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds

Nice To Haves

  • BSN/MSN strongly preferred and generally expected that BSN/MSN is obtained within 5 years of hire
  • One year of acute care RN experience is preferred
