The Registered Nurse leads the healthcare team by establishing authentic, personalized relationships with patients and their support systems. They collaborate with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans that promote optimal health. Utilizing best scientific evidence and compassion, the Registered Nurse assists patients in navigating their health journey. This role involves accepting responsibility, authority, and accountability for managing and providing care in accordance with current policies and procedures, and documenting patient care under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current RN licensure in applicable state.
  • CPI certification within three months of hire required for Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and Central Staffing and Scheduling Office (CSSO).
  • If RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license.
  • Ability to perform basic nursing skills on groups of patients and ability to assume charge responsibility.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize quickly.
  • Ability to administer medication utilizing the five rights.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written form.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to safely and effectively care for all patient populations which present to the department.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health.
  • Utilize best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey.
  • Accept responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with current policies and procedures.
  • Provide and document patient care under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Nurse Manager/Nurse Manager.
  • Act with patient advocacy when implementing the interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to educate the patient and their support system.
  • Analyze, modify, and implement strategies to progress the patient through their plan of care.
  • Ensure completion of nursing interventions, medical orders, and other related therapies.
  • Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members/internal customers to provide efficient treatment of patients.
  • Develop team members through mentoring, precepting, orientation, and providing feedback.
  • Resolve conflicts independently, as appropriate.
  • Accept responsibility for actions and respond positively upon feedback from others.
  • Demonstrate medical skills to provide required patient care.
  • Operate various equipment including portable cardiac monitors, bedside commodes, etc.
  • Provide routine nursing care such as starting IVs, performing dressing changes, etc. for multiple patients in a timely manner.
  • Assist in critical situations including administering CPR.
  • Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients via wheelchair, hospital bed, or stretcher to other departments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
