About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking passionate, experienced nurses and upcoming/recent RN graduates to join their team on the Inpatient Behavioral Unit. This unit specializes in the care of acutely ill patients experiencing mental health crises, focusing on stabilization and connecting patients with outpatient community resources. The role emphasizes strong teamwork, high-quality care, and professional growth. Nurses on this unit will gain skills in critical thinking, communication, verbal de-escalation, and therapeutic behavioral management. The unit fosters a healthy work environment, teamwork, interdisciplinary collaboration, and evidence-based patient care, with a commitment to investing in nursing team members' education, growth, and development. They have achieved Daisy & Bee Nominees and Awards and are a Magnet Hospital. The unit culture is supportive, with 8 weeks of new graduate nurse training and a focus on helping team members meet their professional and personal goals.

Requirements

Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
Must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
