About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health Department at Texas Health Dallas will bring their passion to a busy outpatient clinic that consists of Partial Hospital Programs and an Intensive Out-Patient Program. This role consistently serves adults with co-occurring behavioral health and chemical dependency needs. Professional nurses will collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure the safety and treatment of patients participating in the day hospital program. They will also participate in treatment team meetings as needed and teach nursing groups three times a week for patients in women's, co-ed, and chemical dependency groups.

Requirements

  • Nursing Diploma required OR Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
  • BCLS prior to hire
  • BCPMHN upon hire required
  • ACPI (30 days within hire)
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • One year of Behavioral Health experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
  • Practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act
  • Serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
