The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Behavioral Health Department at Texas Health Hospital Dallas will deliver care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process. This includes assessing the patient, planning the care, intervening as appropriate, and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions. The RN will incorporate age-specific safety and infection control measures into patient care, initiate actions to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information, and maintain continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers. The role involves working in a busy outpatient clinic setting with Partial Hospital Programs and Intensive Out-Patient Programs, serving adults with co-occurring behavioral health and chemical dependency needs. Professional nurses will collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team to ensure safety and treatment of patients participating in the day hospital program, participate in treatment team meetings, and teach nursing groups three times a week for patients in women's, co-ed, and chemical dependency groups.
