About The Position

This position supports the needs of the department, with a focus on clinical, operational, and administrative excellence. The Registered Nurse assesses patients, plans and delivers nursing care, monitors for changes in condition, and helps ensure treatment-plan goals are carried out in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and demonstrated nursing competencies. The role also provides shift leadership and supervises staff to promote consistent, exemplary patient care.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license as required by state regulations.
• CPR certification, required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• De-escalation certification, required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in patient assessments, family motivations, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility.
• Direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients, plan care within established timeframes, and document findings according to policies.
• Oversee and supervise the shift.
• Demonstrate leadership, including delegating tasks such as groups, close observation, and meal supervision.
• Oversee staff to ensure nursing policies and procedures are followed and exemplary patient care is consistently delivered.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately, including notifying the physician when necessary.
• Administer medications in accordance with hospital policy.
• Interact with patients consistently using empathy, dignity, and respect.
• Deliver quality nursing care to ensure treatment-plan goals are properly executed according to hospital policies, procedures, and nursing competencies.
• Assist with or perform comprehensive nursing assessments for all patients.
