About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel contract in an inpatient Behavioral Health / Mental Health Unit . This night-shift role is ideal for RNs with strong psychiatric nursing experience who are committed to delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing acute mental health conditions.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent inpatient Behavioral Health or Mental Health Unit experience
• License: Active New York State RN license (in good standing)
• Certification: Current BLS required
• Background Check: NY Registry search required upon contract acceptance
• Must work every other weekend and rotating holidays
• Travel Position Only: Primary residence must be more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates are not eligible per facility policy

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive psychiatric and nursing assessments
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation during acute episodes
• Administer and monitor psychotropic medications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement treatment plans
• Maintain patient safety, including suicide precautions and close observation
• Accurately document patient care per NYS standards and facility protocols
