About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in an Adult Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at a Level 1 Trauma Center in downtown Syracuse, NY. This role supports adult patients during the critical transition from anesthesia to recovery (pre- and post-operative). The ideal candidate will have a strong critical care background and the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Requirements

• Active New York State RN License (required)
• BLS certification (must be current or eligible for recertification)
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience (within the past 2 years)
• Direct experience in Inpatient PACU and Critical Care (required)
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with surgical and anesthesia teams

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center or large acute care hospital strongly preferred
• EPIC EMR experience highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Advanced Patient Assessment: Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments of adult patients recovering from general, regional, and local anesthesia
• Hemodynamic Monitoring: Monitor vital signs, airway status, neurological function, and manage invasive lines and titratable drips
• Post-Operative Care: Manage surgical sites, drains, pain control, and identify early signs of post-operative complications (e.g., respiratory distress, bleeding)
• Pre-Operative Support: Conduct pre-op screenings and assist with patient stabilization prior to procedures
• Patient Safety & Compliance: Follow established protocols for Level 1 trauma and acute care settings to ensure patient safety during recovery
• Documentation: Accurately document patient status, interventions, and medications using EPIC EMR
