About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to support a Children & Youth psychiatric population at a state-operated healthcare facility in Utica, NY. Requirements

• Licensure: Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Experience: Behavioral Health and/or Pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• Clinical Skills: Strong assessment abilities, crisis intervention experience, and sound clinical judgment
• Professional Skills: Ability to work effectively within a structured, state-run healthcare system

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and well-being of children and adolescents on the behavioral health unit
• Monitor psychiatric symptoms, medical conditions, and overall patient stability
• Supervise and guide Mental Health Therapy Aide (MHTA) staff
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including vital signs and physical health monitoring
• Administer medications per provider orders and provide medication and health education
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, including treatment planning, clinical reviews, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and manage unit supplies and inventory
