Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in the community by performing the duties listed in this job description. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve with limited direction and supervision. This position may be a member of a team that provides support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated care to individuals with behavioral health diagnosis or substance use disorders. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to persons with behavioral health challenges in an inpatient setting. Relies on education, skill, and judgment to provide quality services to the people we serve with limited direction and supervision. Requirements

  • Requires a unencumbered Registered Nursing License.
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing, with a minimum of an Associates Degree in Nursing.
  • Must meet the education, experience, licensure/certification requirements specified by the service definition of the service being provided
  • Valid drivers license (this is a condition of employment) including personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must maintain proficiency in company sponsored training and certifications and privileging if required.
  • Complete criminal background
  • Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.

Nice To Haves

  • For certain behavioral health services additional requirements may apply.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Prefer one year of nursing experience.
  • Experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
  • Some college training and/or management experience helpful

Responsibilities

  • Complying with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following appropriate guidelines for investigation of discrepancies
  • Monitoring consumers and taking appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications
  • Completing QA activities as requested and participating in the QA process
  • Providing patient care and therapeutic support
  • Providing nursing evaluations and monitoring for safety
  • Administering medications
  • Other job duties as assigned
