About The Position

This role involves partnering closely with clinical teams to manage discharges and transfers, acting as a strategic planner for bed assignments to ensure hospital efficiency. The Registered Nurse will also serve as a critical gatekeeper by reviewing admissions for medical necessity, using clinical judgment to match patients with the most suitable unit and resources. Additionally, this position involves mentoring Admissions Coordinators, providing them with real-time direction and support, and analyzing bed management metrics to identify trends and propose solutions for system performance improvement.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Must be able to meet the standard PRN minimum of one 12-hour mid shift (12pm-12am) every two weeks with a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.

Responsibilities

Partner closely with clinical teams to pulse-check discharges and transfers.
Plan bed assignments to keep the hospital’s "heartbeat" steady and efficient.
Review admissions for medical necessity.
Ensure every patient is matched with the unit and resources best suited to their recovery.
Serve as a mentor and guide for our Admissions Coordinators.
Provide real-time direction and support to Admissions Coordinators to navigate complex patient access challenges.
Dive into bed management metrics to spot trends and propose innovative solutions that improve our system's performance.
