About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Antepartum position at Texas Health Plano is a PRN role working days (7:00 am – 7:00 pm) in a 20-bed High-Risk OB unit. This role provides care and monitoring for patients in Antepartum, High-Risk OB, GYN surgery, all female surgeries, and Postpartum mothers with babies in the Level IV NICU. The RN is responsible for the 24-hour care of non-laboring Antepartum and GYN patients.

Requirements

Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
CPI – Crises Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Other – CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
One year of Antepartum experience strongly preferred
One year of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring upon hire preferred

Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
