Registered Nurse, Antepartum - PRN, Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) Antepartum at Texas Health Plano will provide care for and monitoring of patients in the Antepartum, High-Risk OB, GYN surgery, all female surgeries, and Postpartum units. This role is responsible for the 24-hour care of non-laboring Antepartum and GYN patients. The Antepartum department is a 20-bed High-Risk OB unit. Texas Health Plano is a 386-bed, full-service hospital serving North Texas, specializing in emergency medicine and trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery and spine, advanced orthopedics, women’s services, adult and adolescent behavioral health, an adult intensive care unit, and technologically advanced surgical services. It is a Level II Trauma Facility, the only healthcare facility in Collin County with Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal facility designations, and has a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. Texas Health Plano is a four-time Magnet-designated hospital.
Requirements
- Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
- RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
- CPI – Crises Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required
- Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- One year of Antepartum experience strongly preferred
- One year of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
- IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring upon hire preferred
Responsibilities
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Intervenes as appropriate
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
