About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Antepartum. Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, Texas 75093. Work hours: PRN, 7:00am – 7:00pm; Three shifts per six week schedule required. Antepartum Department highlights: 20 bed High-Risk OB unit. Provide care for and monitoring of patients in Antepartum, High-Risk OB, GYN surgery, all female surgeries and Postpartum moms who have babies in the Level IV NICU. Responsible for 24-hour care of non-laboring Antepartum and GYN patients.

Requirements

Diploma in Nursing or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program.
RN – Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
NRP – Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days required
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
CPI – Crises Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
Other – CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required
One year of Antepartum experience strongly preferred
One year of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred
IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring upon hire preferred

Responsibilities

Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
