About The Position

Join our Urology team as a Registered Nurse and provide specialized care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The Urology RN plays an important role in supporting providers, coordinating patient care, performing clinical procedures, and providing education and triage support for patients with a wide range of urologic conditions. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with physicians, APPs, and a multidisciplinary team while caring for patients across many areas of urology, including bladder cancer, kidney stones, sexual health, voiding dysfunction, urinary incontinence, reconstructive urology, and general urologic conditions. Urology is a unique specialty that combines oncology, procedural care, chronic disease management, and complex patient care. This role is ideal for an RN who enjoys variety, teamwork, developing specialty knowledge, and building meaningful relationships with patients throughout their care journey.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Massachusetts RN license
  • BLS (American Heart Association)
  • Acute care medical-surgical experience
  • 3 plus years of RN experience preferred
  • Strong clinical, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Support providers during office-based procedures, including bladder Botox injections, urodynamic studies (UDS), prostate biopsies, and other urologic procedures.
  • Administer intravesical bladder chemotherapy and other specialized urology treatments while following established safety protocols.
  • Provide telephone and electronic triage support by assessing patient concerns, prioritizing needs, providing clinical guidance, and coordinating care with providers.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, procedures, medications, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate care for patients with complex urologic conditions, including those undergoing cancer treatment and ongoing specialty care.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, medical assistants, and administrative teams to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
  • Assist with pre- and post-procedure patient care, including preparation, monitoring, discharge instructions, and follow-up coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, department projects, and workflow improvements to enhance patient care.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the needs of the department and provide excellent patient care.
