About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Adult Inpatient Mental Health position at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC) West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. Our Adult Inpatient Mental Health Unit at the UMMC West Bank has 17 beds in 5 private and 6 double rooms. The team consists of attending psychiatrists, 2 CTC's (social workers), 1 Occupational therapist, RNs, and psychiatric associates. Chaplains, diversity specialists, and medical providers are shared with other units. Station 20 also has a mix of many challenging patients including those who are anxious/depressed and are at risk for self-harm or suicide as well as those who have thought disorders and struggle with managing their lives in the community. Some patients have co-occurring medical issues that broaden the RN experience. Station 20 is one of our teaching units and so RNs and PAs will work with resident doctors and medical students. Team meetings on teaching units are very informative and participatory. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. This position will work charge.

Requirements

MN Registered Nurse (RN) Licens
Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
3 years' experience in mental health nursing
5 years' experience in nursing
