About The Position
Valle Vista Health System is a 132-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Greenwood, IN, featuring individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. It offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs, providing care to over 10,000 patients annually. Valle Vista Health System is also a teaching facility that supports local nursing students through its dedicated and tenured nursing team. The system offers a Psychiatric Nurse Residency Program for newly licensed nurses. This program focuses on important concepts integral to patient safety in behavioral health, helping new nurses apply knowledge, learn new skills, and think critically. It aims to transition newly licensed nurses into confident professionals with knowledge, skills, and competence in psychiatric behavioral health nursing, based on evidence that such programs increase competence, satisfaction, retention, and decrease stress and self-reported errors. The course content is evidence-based and designed to strengthen core competencies foundational to Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associate's degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current license to practice nursing in State of Indiana (or eligible to receive or renew).
- Current CPR or BLS certification.

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.

- Treatment Planning Monitors and documents progress on the goals noted in the treatment plan.
