About The Position

COMPASSION CARE HOSPICE is seeking a passionate, dedicated Hospice Admissions RN to join our team in Las Vegas, NV. Our hospice RNs provide expert, patient-centered care at a critical time in people’s lives. This role offers a supportive, fulfilling environment where your skills and empathy truly shine. The position involves visiting patients in homes, hospitals, and nursing facilities to explain hospice services, discuss goals of care, answer questions, and obtain necessary consents. You will also obtain medical history, current medications, and symptoms, perform comprehensive clinical assessments to determine eligibility based on Medicare/insurance guidelines, and coordinate the start of services including nursing, aides, equipment, and medications. Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and maintaining accurate, timely documentation are key responsibilities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school with current licensure to practice in state of operation
• One year of hospice nursing experience required
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years preferred or similar setting such as Long-Term Care, Intensive care, or Emergency room will be considered in place of hospice nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Visit patients (in homes, hospitals, nursing facilities, etc.) who are referred for hospice care
• Explain hospice services, discuss goals and care with the patient and families, answer any questions, and obtain necessary consents and legal documents
• Obtain medical history, current medications, and symptoms
• Perform comprehensive clinical assessments to determine eligibility for hospice based on Medicare/insurance guidelines
• Coordinate the start of services (nursing, aides, equipment, medications.)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
