About The Position

On 3 South, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through some of their most complex and meaningful healthcare journeys, delivering advanced treatments while building lasting connections with patients and their families. This is an opportunity to practice at a high level on a specialized inpatient oncology unit, where nurses are trusted, supported, and empowered to provide evidence-based care in a collaborative, team-first environment. As a Registered Nurse on 3 South Acute Oncology, you will deliver comprehensive care to a diverse population of patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumor cancers in a 28-bed inpatient unit focused on complex, specialty care. In this dynamic environment, you will build deep clinical expertise while caring for patients with both oncology and medical-surgical needs. This role offers a strong blend of technical skill development, critical thinking, and compassionate patient interaction. What your day-to-day looks like: Deliver direct patient care for individuals with complex oncology diagnoses and co-morbidities Administer and monitor advanced infusions, including chemotherapy, blood products, and supportive therapies Collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team to implement individualized care plans Provide ongoing symptom management and patient education to support patients and families throughout treatment Engage in a highly interactive team environment that values communication, feedback, and continuous improvement Take on increasing ownership of patient care while building leadership skills within the unit This is a role for nurses who are energized by complexity, committed to safe and compassionate oncology care, and eager to grow their clinical expertise in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
